Application Form

The mod is currently away. Any applications received after Tuesday, December 8 will not be reviewed until the following Tuesday, December 15. Apologies for any inconveniences.

Before applying, please ensure that you have read the rules, checked the taken and held list to ensure the character/PB you're after is not already in play, and have created a journal for said character.

When you're ready to apply, reply to this post either with the application in its entirety or a link to where the app has been posted in your chosen character journal (comments are screened). Your app should contain the following information:

You:
Name:
Contact:

Character:
Deity Name:
Pantheon:
Current Alias: If applicable: What name do they go by among mortals?
Apparent Age:
Occupation: If applicable.

Personality: The basic personality of your character: Attitudes, demeanour, sense of humour, strengths, weaknesses, quirks, fears, aspirations, etc.
History: You should at least briefly go into the mythology, but we're also interested in the character's history following the myth's (and therefore the deity's) arrival in America.

PB: Be sensible when choosing a face to represent your deity. Some myths won't go into great detail when it comes to physical descriptions, but it is logical to assume, for instance, that a god of African or Egyptian origin isn't going to be lily-white, just as a Viking god will probably not be dark-skinned.
Image Link: Image should be at least 200x200 pixels.
Journal:

Sample Post: This is only required for new players. Players with one or more characters already in the game need not provide a writing sample.

Please note: Journals will not be given posting access unless there is a disclaimer displayed in the userinfo, such as the following:
[PB name] is in no way associated with this journal. The thoughts contained within are not their own, nor are they meant to represent the actual thoughts, lifestyle, actions or image of this person. Their image is being used for the fictional representation of a character in the role-playing game Forgotten Gods, from which no profit is being made. No harm, misrepresentation, libel, malice or copyright infringement is intended. There was a hush among the crowd. A quiet, somber temperament that drowned shrill voices into listless murmurs that were soft with restraint. The baseline, a deep and mournful cry from the cello on stage, had started. It carried out over the room like molasses and growled speakers to silence as every set of eyes in the room trained forward to it's origin. Before them, wrapped in obsidian silk, was their entertainer for the evening. She looked .. sensual, and Arabic-Nubian minx that sat perched atop a stool with only a lonely microphone as her companion.

"I put a spell on you .. because you're mine."

Her voice was deep, and met the song of the cello in a delicious marriage of pitch and tenor. She sang like there was a wound in her soul, and the pain from it thundered in her voice and made it seep from her lips like smoke poured over gravel. She sang for them, and her song came from a deep, dark place that was filled with mystical relish,

"You betta' stop the things you do .. I ain't lying .. no, I ain't lyin'.
You know I can't stand it, your runnin' around. You know better daddy.
I can't stand it cause you put me down.
I put a spell on you ..
because you're mine."

Now it was time for the saxophone. And it blasted out in a burst of brass that threatened to shake the deep from her voice, until her pitch rose to counter it. It was a series of trills, no real words, just the hum of her alto and the slick maneuvering from the noisy sax. It was like she made love to it, vocally, lost in her own precious pleasure as her fingers curled around the microphone as if it were a long lost lover.

"I love you anyhow, and I don't care if you don't want me .. I'm yours right now."

The rest of the band awoke, as if she had issued a command There was a swell of sound that struck all those listening in the chest. The lazy percussion rose to a crescendo, and that damned sax shrilled out it's solo. The singer herself drew a breath right along with her loving audience, gathered her bearings and the aforementioned deepness was like a raging sea one could drown in.

"You hear me? I put a spell on you .. because you're mine .."
