Application Form

The mod is currently away. Any applications received after Tuesday, December 8 will not be reviewed until the following Tuesday, December 15. Apologies for any inconveniences.

Before applying, please ensure that you have read the rules, checked the taken and held list to ensure the character/PB you're after is not already in play, and have created a journal for said character.

When you're ready to apply, reply to this post either with the application in its entirety or a link to where the app has been posted in your chosen character journal (comments are screened). Your app should contain the following information:

You:
Name:
Contact:

Character:
Deity Name:
Pantheon:
Current Alias: If applicable: What name do they go by among mortals?
Apparent Age:
Occupation: If applicable.

Personality: The basic personality of your character: Attitudes, demeanour, sense of humour, strengths, weaknesses, quirks, fears, aspirations, etc.
History: You should at least briefly go into the mythology, but we're also interested in the character's history following the myth's (and therefore the deity's) arrival in America.

PB: Be sensible when choosing a face to represent your deity. Some myths won't go into great detail when it comes to physical descriptions, but it is logical to assume, for instance, that a god of African or Egyptian origin isn't going to be lily-white, just as a Viking god will probably not be dark-skinned.
Image Link: Image should be at least 200x200 pixels.
Journal:

Sample Post: This is only required for new players. Players with one or more characters already in the game need not provide a writing sample.

Please note: Journals will not be given posting access unless there is a disclaimer displayed in the userinfo, such as the following:
[PB name] is in no way associated with this journal. The thoughts contained within are not their own, nor are they meant to represent the actual thoughts, lifestyle, actions or image of this person. Their image is being used for the fictional representation of a character in the role-playing game Forgotten Gods, from which no profit is being made. No harm, misrepresentation, libel, malice or copyright infringement is intended. The images used are not the property of the player and belong to the person depicted and/or their respective copyright holders.

Dion part 2
[info]lovely_evil_one
2008-05-17 07:10 pm UTC (link)

Sample Post: The evening was over, the restaurant where Dion worked was closed, the front door silent. Only a few people were left inside, other employees that were working around him, sidestepping out of his way as he replaced the wine bottles, leaving the reds out and corking the whites to place them back into the ice box in the back.

The reds would have to go home with them, though the option existed for them to be poured down the drain, some things were too deeply ingrained to be ignored. Wine could not be poured down the drain like yesterday's refuse, it must be enjoyed, relished, drunk.

"I'm taking this one, Dion," Cassie called out from the counter. He turned, just enough to see which bottle would go home with her.

The shiraz. An excellent choice, though the chardonnay that they'd finished one night tasted better on her and Dion had always been curious if the top American wine just happened to taste better on American skin. His studies so far had concluded that there was a better chance that it would than it wouldn't.

"Enjoy," he replied and smiled at her, a brief, quick curl of the lips that was more polite than friendly before he turned back to finish stocking the wines. If she looked slightly crestfallen that he wasn't inviting her home that evening as well... he ignored it.

Dion was rather in the mood for red wine and not white.

Liliths part 3
[info]darkbeauty
2008-05-17 11:04 pm UTC (link)
Sample Post:Four people were seated in the small conference room. The first was a teenager who had quickly and sloppily been tossed into a suit. It was clear by the way he wore the fabric that it was not something he was used to. The second was a woman with long curly blond hair. For just one glance at the woman Lilith could tell that the curls were natural, the blond was not. The other two were Lilith and her assistant, Nathan.

"I won't lie to you Mrs. Wade," Lilith flipped through the young man's file, "The evidence is stacked up against your son. There are numerous witnesses that put Brandon at the scene. They even have an internet conversation where he alludes to committing the crime. This will not be an easy case to defend."

Ever word she had spoken had been true. Very carefully spun truths. The web was set; all she had to do now was continue to examine the case file and look rather doubtful.

Mrs. Wade looked doubtful as well, but for another reason. Never put it past a mother to believe her son could do no wrong. No, she looked Doubtfully at Lilith. "Miss Kincade," she said slowly as she nervously squeezed the balled up tissue she was holding, "I appreciate that you came to see us, but..." she bit her pink bottom lip, "aren't you a little young? I mean..."

"I know what you mean, Mrs. Wade, " Lilith said her voice very firm, "However, I assure you that the Kincade in Talbert, Hudson, and Kincade is not my father, it is me. Despite my age I provide the best representation money can buy."

"I...I'm sorry Miss Kincade," Mrs. Wade began to tear up again, "It is just...we..we've never had much, but my Brandon could never do anything like they are saying he did. He could never hurt anyone like that. I raised him much better then that...I..." The rest of whatever she said was lost to her tears.

Lilith gave the woman a moment to weep before she interrupted, "Please calm down, Mrs. Wade."

The woman didn't calm down, just looked towards her son for reassurance. He didn't do this, right?

With a sigh Brandon sat up a little straighter from the slouching position he'd adopted. "It's jus' like my old woman says...I didn't do it." There really wasn't much conviction behind his voice and he didn't wait long to slouch back into the chair. However, the half-hearted innocent plea seemed to comfort his mother.

"Very well," Lilith said with a sigh, " You don't have enough to pay my normal fee." She paused long enough to savor the worried look in the weepy woman's eyes, "However, " she continued with a seemingly warm smile, " I know that you have been having a hard time getting anyone else to take this case. Pro Bono work always looks good...I'll defend your son."

"Really?" The woman almost threatened to burst back into tears, " I knew that someone would have to believe us...I just..." She softly started to cry again.

"Mrs. Wade," Lilith shook the woman's hand again, " If you and your son would step out into the waiting room for a moment, my assistant and I need to confer."

Once the woman and her son were gone Lilith gave Nathan a calm look, "You know the drill. Go ahead and get them all the proper forms."

"Lily," Nathan broke his long silence, " You don't really believe he's innocent do you?"

"Are you kidding?" she smirked, "They never are...That little bastard was as guilty as sin."
